Throw Up Your Devil Horns for These Robots

I’ll admit that I am not a huge fan of cover bands however when I came across an all-robot metal group called Compressorhead I was blown away. You really have to hand it to the Germans for taking their love of heavy metal music to extremes.

Dubbed the “world’s heaviest metal band” Compressorhead features three members, Stickboy, Fingers, and Bones. According to the band’s website:

“Stickboy (drums) was created to exacting specifications. 4 arms, 2 legs, 1 head, no brain. [H]e plays a Pearl 14 piece kit with double kick. [S]tickboy [J]unior, the bastard child of an unknown mother takes control of the hihat shuffle. [I]nception date 2007. Fingers (guitar) joined [S]tickboy in 2009 and brings 78 purpose built fingers, enough to play the entire fret board and pluck. Bones (bass) is the highest precision bass player in known existence, and the youngest member of the band. [I]nception date 2012.”

The latest upload to YouTube appears to be Compressorhead’s cover of Motorhead’s “Ace of Spades”. I would love to hear what Lemmy thinks of this version of his band’s signature song. The full video is below as well as Motorhead performing it live. Scroll down further to watch Compressorhead cover classics from AC/DC and Pantera.

If you want to catch the band “live” you will have to go down under. The trio plans to take the stage at Big Day Out 2013 along with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Killers, Vampire Weekend, and Band of Horses.
